6 Pack Abs
Getting 6 pack abs is not really that hard, if you know the right way to go about getting them.
Getting 6 pack abs can be incredibly elusive. You can spend a lot of money on machines, devices, pills,
supplements, DVDs, and even gym memberships and still see few if any results.
So how can you really get 6 pack abs? What is the secret to getting ripped?
Perhaps one of the best books ever on getting lean, ripped abs is the Truth
About Abs by fitness expert Mike Geary.
Mike knows what he’s talking about, and he’s sold more fitness ebooks than any other author, so if you are
really serious about shedding that fat and finally getting a six pack, you might want to check out Mike's
program.
More 6-pack myths
The following are some commonly held beliefs about weight loss and flat stomachs. Which are true and which are
myths?
Read on to find out!
Common belief #1: Eating late at night will cause you to put on more pounds. Many, many “nutritionists” and
personal trainers promote this belief, but until recently, nobody had ever actually conducted research to see if it
was true.
But recently, researchers at the National Primate Research Center of Oregon Health & Science University
conducted a study which refuted this notion, providing evidence that it doesn’t matter when you eat, but how MUCH
you eat. Therefore, it looks like this commonly held notion is false.
Common belief #2: You can get a 6 pack by simply doing enough crunches and ab exercises. This is false. Unless
you burn off the fat covering your abdominal muscles, they will remain hidden and you will not have a 6 pack.
In addition to doing ab exercises, you need to follow a proper diet and do aerobic exercise in order to burn the
fat and let the world see your sexy washboard stomach!
Common belief # 3: It is possible to “spot tone” and lose fat over the abs first by either taking supplements,
using a certain machine, or following a given routine. This too is patently false.
You are, for better or worse, genetically pre-programmed to gain and lose fat at various spots on your body. Not
matter what you do, short of physically removing fat via liposuction, you will burn off the fat in the reverse
order in which you put in on, as determined by your DNA.
So if you grew your tummy before you put on weight in your rear end, you will have to burn off the fat in your
buttocks region before you will lose it in your abdominal region.
The only way to burn the fat covering your abs is to eat less or follow a fat reduction diet (like the Zone) and
by aerobic exercise.
Common belief #4: All diets work the same way and equally effectively, by reducing calorie intake. Therefore,
the only way to diet effectively is to cut calorie intake.
This is still widely believed by many doctors and dieticians. But some studies have shown low carb diets like
the Zone and Atkins to be more effective in helping people lose weight, particularly in the short term.
So if you are after quick fat loss, you might want to check out one of these diets (but consult your doctor
first!).
Getting 6 pack abs takes a combination of three things: proper diet, aerobic exercise, and abdominal exercises.
That’s it.
So get started on this three-pronged approach today, and in no time flat, you’ll have a sexy 6 pack!
